AAMCF GOLFERS SET OUT TO
“WIN THE SKINS”
AT
2008 TOURNAMENT
|
The American Amusement
Machine Charitable Foundation proudly hosted the 9th annual Charity
Golf Tournament on Wednesday, March 26th. 60 members of the Coin-Op industry took a
break from trade show set up and meetings to enjoy a beautiful day on the fairways
and greens of the Desert Pines Golf Course in Las Vegas, NV.
This year’s outing came with
some surprises and a new format. A
“skins” tournament offered all golfers, skilled and not-so-skilled, the
opportunity to take home cash and prizes.
The 15 foursomes were presented with a set of envelopes, one for each
hole. Golfers were instructed to open an
envelope after their foursome had completed putting each green. Envelopes revealed that hole’s winner, which
varied between high and low scores and included a prize, which ranged from cash
to raffle tickets to mystery gift cards.
As golfers arrived back at
the clubhouse, bearers of a mystery gift cards had the opportunity to pick a
number to win the corresponding prize.
Golfers took home items such as golf balls, tees, towels, etc. donated
by Brady Distributing and Firestone Financial.
Additional mystery prizes were made up of a golf teddy bear and signed
Tiger Woods print from Animaland, Inc.; an iPod shuffle travel alarm clock from
Redemption Plus; and a 10.2 inch portable DVD player from Sureshot Redemption. The outing also yielded additional winners,
as Tim Lacey of TouchTunes Music Corp. made the closest to the pin shot of the
day on Hole #8, taking home a TaylorMade R7 Driver donated by Family Fun
Companies. David Swafford of Triotech
Amusement hit the longest drive on hole #9 and was awarded an OGIO golf bag and
travel case courtesy of the Children’s Miracle Network (CMN).
Golfers seemed to really
enjoy this new format, as many stated that they loved the fact that even the
worst of golfers had the opportunity to win something. In some cases, the less skilled golfers took
home more.
“The outing was very well
organized. The ‘skins’ envelopes were a
good idea. I had a great time”, stated
Mike Bocelli of MEI Group.
Raleigh
Rossow of Brady
Distributing boasted, “This event was ‘the bomb’. Anyone can win something, even I got to win.”
